More control? Check. More transparency? Check. More data coverage? Double-check. This June, we packed 4M with smarter admin tools, easier ways to verify sources, and expanded data coverage to Virgiina—so you can spend less time guessing and more time building.

New Features and Updates

Admin Enhancements:

  • Search bar in the Team Management page: In the Team Management page—which you can navigate to by clicking on your initials in the top right of the 4M platform and click on “Team Management”—you can now search for the names or email addresses of team members in your organization who have been added to 4Map.
  • Ability to set thresholds for projects in the Admin Dashboard: Admins may click the “Set Threshold” button in either the Foundation Projects or Validated Projects box, and set a threshold to get email alerts when your organization’s usage hits a specific percentage. I.e. you can enter “90” to get notified when you’ve used 90% of your plan. This can help you stay ahead of limits and avoid disruptions in your team’s use of 4M.

View Sources for Utility Lines

We’ve just made it easier to access and verify the source behind every utility line in 4Map.

With our new View Sources feature, you can now click any line on the map to see the exact source associated with it—whether it's from public records, official documents, AI-generated data, or your own uploads.

Whenever you click on a utility line, you’ll now see:

  • A clear data source type (e.g. Public Records, Public Documents, Generated by 4M, or Customer Data) in the pop-up.
  • A new View Sources link that lets you dive deeper to view the exact names of source documents and preview excerpts from the original files, all within the platform.

This means you can now trace each line back to its origin, verify context, and build with greater confidence: especially helpful during permitting, coordination, and due diligence.
