August brought a powerful new way to give teams flexibility and control with the ability to update utility line attributes in real time. The result? A more dynamic 4M—built to help you plan smarter and push projects forward with confidence. Plus, we launched Foundation Data in Oklahama!
Edit Utility Line Attributes
With the ability to edit utility line attributes, Admins and Project Owners can now update and manage utility line data directly in 4M. This transforms 4M into a dynamic workspace where your team can collaborate, update, and share up-to-date project data in real time.
The new Utility Summary Table provides a centralized view of all utility lines in a single, searchable interface. From this table, users can:
- Update the values of existing attributes (e.g., change the Material of a utility line).
- Add new attributes from the predefined 4M Fields Bank.
- Perform single or batch edits across multiple lines.
- See updates reflected on the map in real time when style-driven fields (e.g., Sector) are changed.

4M’s Foundation Data has been launched in Oklahoma—delivering instant, reliable utility data to projects across the Sooner state.
See the map below for the current mapped states (gold) as of August 2025, and the states coming up in 2025 (grey). Up next: Foundation Data will be launched in Michigan in early September!
